457 retirement plan loans It’s Steph here (aka @xogingy on Instagram). Like Cayanne, I am a body-positive, self-love advocate. Why? Because I went through a very dark period in my life when I obsessed over my weight, the scale, the food I was eating, and my body. Through years of self-discovery (which is an ongoing process in my life), I am able to say I now live a much more balanced, happy lifestyle. In addition to embracing positive body image, I am a POP Pilates instructor, and teaching POP has been responsible for helping me achieve the balance and peace with food and body image I craved.
Why In The World Would Someone With An ED Enter The Fitness Industry?
Now, you may think that someone who is trying to regain a healthy body image SHOULDN’T enter the fitness industry, right? I mean, it’s full of body-obsessed people and the focus is on, well..your body. But for me, it’s different. POP is different. POP is about d embracing all body types and fitness levels. We don’t care what you look like; we care how you FEEL. As a fitness instructor, I want you to look forward to coming to class not only because it’s a good workout, but because it’s fun and you’ll leave feeling amazing. You will get this feeling without looking in a mirror. c How you feel is 100% more important than how you look.
4 Things I Learned As A Fitness Instructor That Taught Me to Heal My Relationship With My Body
- A workout is never an obligation
- Working out for the sole purpose of losing weight or changing your body isn’t mentally healthy
- Working out should make you feel happy, stronger, and healthier
- You should leave your workout feeling accomplished, proud and full of endorphins
As an instructor, I want to be a positive influence on my students. And let me tell you this, being obsessed with my body and how I look is NOT positive. So, it gives me even more motivation to love myself as I am and live a healthy, balanced life. No longer do I obsess over my body or work out compulsively, instead, I focus on being happy and doing things that make me happy. As fitness instructors, we have a duty, and that’s to inspire and uplift our students. During that hour, our hour, I can guarantee that you’ll have fun and leave with a smile. Becoming a fitness instructor was one of the best decisions of my life because I get to watch people thrive and it has improved my own body confidence immensely.
